Presented by Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon’s from RJAH’s Hand Unit, this course is designed for GPs, AHPs and Orthopaedic Registrar Trainees. A study day covering the initial assessment and management of hand and wrist pathologies. Each topic starts with a more formal presentation then continues with an informal interactive discussion session. Each study day will aim to cover common pathologies in some depth including relevant injection techniques/splints etc., a rarer pathology, hand trauma (things not to miss) and end with case discussions for which delegates are encouraged to bring any cases they wish to discuss.

The first study day covered:

  • Progressive compression neuropathy of the median nerve in the carpal tunnel (Carpal Tunnel Syndrome)
  • Ulnar sided wrist pain and ulnar impaction
  • Mallet Fingers and Scaphoids.
