This 3-day course will cover most of the core curriculum for the foot and ankle. Lectures aim to provide delegates with a core understanding of the management of common foot and ankle problems and topics include biomechanics and gait, the evaluation and treatment of forefoot, midfoot and hindfoot pain, the role of orthotics and what to prescribe.

This course is designed primarily for operating theatre staff, and auxiliary health professionals. Its aim is to provide a basic understanding with regards the concepts behind surgical management of common fractures.

By the end of the course candidates should be able to:

• Be aware of the basic anatomy of the long bones in the upper and lower limb
• Understand the aetiology of common fractures in the upper and lower limb
• Understand the difference between extra- and intra-articular fractures and the rationale for surgical management
• Understand the rationale for selection of appropriate fixation techniques for each of the above fracture types
• Understand the current evidence with regards fixation techniques

This course is focused on the basic principles and underlying knowledge of Orthopaedics as will be expected of a successful candidate at the National ST3 Recruitment. The course will include a short series of lectures on the interview process, with a focus on face-to-face mock interviews for candidates.

A unique one day interactive course dedicated to Sports Knee injuries. Specifically aimed for ST3 – ST8 Orthopaedic registrars this meeting will provide lectures and hands-on training for the majority of the soft tissue knee injuries, with cadaveric specimens. A strong faculty consisting of expert consultant orthopaedic surgeons working in RJAH’s Knee firm will stimulate discussion and teach the delegates in an anatomy lab environment. Delegates have the opportunity to hone their techniques using fresh-frozen cadaveric specimens.

Injection Technique course which covers the Shoulder, Elbow, Hand, Wrist, Hip and Knee. Lectures by Orthopaedic Surgeons discussing technique and contraindications. Demonstrations featuring both patients and joint injection models.
