Delivered by the Consultant Orthopaedic Spinal Surgeons at RJAH, this course changes its programme each year in order to provide new and relevant knowledge for GPs, GP Trainees, Allied Health Practitioners and Extended Scope Practitioners interested in increasing their understanding about spinal conditions and their diagnoses. It is important for all concerned to speak the same language and have the same understanding about History, Physical Examination, Interpretation of Investigations, and Treatment Plan for spinal conditions. Some of the relevant topics discussed so far include cauda equina syndrome, disc prolapse, lumbar spine stenosis and tandem stenosis, sciatica, myelopathy, paediatric and adult deformity. The course format is a mixture of lectures and patient presentations.
