The Institute of Orthopaedics, founded in 1971, is a registered charity and, through voluntary contributions, funds research in a large number of specialist research centres and departments at the Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.  As such, it is the research and teaching unit of the hospital.

Our research work is carried out by the Institute of Orthopaedics, the Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital and the school of Postgraduate Medicine of Keele University, which all work in close collaboration.

Many research programmes are inter-disciplinary and involve staff from more than one department.  The research work results in new and improved methods of treatment as well as additions to medical knowledge.

For enquiries with regard to donations and fundraising, please contact Mr Gwilym Owen on 01691 404661 or email gwilym.owen@rjah.nhs.uk
